Hi all,

This is a weird one I've noticed several times and not entirely sure on how it crops up, but it must be a feature and one I think I could use. That said, Googling has let me down and so has the help function.

Basically, in illustrator there must be some version system as my files occasionally end up being named #### ::1.ai and #### ::2.ai. This is only within the program, in explorer the file is just ####.ai. So the versions are embedded.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or explain this feature to me? I can't work the damn thing out and it's bugging me.

Thanks!

Don't get me wrong, I'm fairly experienced with the application too, but not only can I not find out any information about this but I also can't recreate it at will, nor work backwards when it happens to something I have done.

It is elusive!

Caught it doing it! Still don't know why, but this is what happens..
