Illustrator CS5 users

I'm getting a crash whenever I try and save an .ai that contains bitmap images, or a bitmap-based effect (e.g. drop shadow). Anyone else experiencing this?

I just use cs3 at work but I know the mac version uses pdfs for previews.

Not sure if the windows version also uses that? You can check/uncheck the pdf option in the 'save as' window. Maybe something related in your system is knockering that part of it up.

Windows. It's working fine at home. I tried reinstalling Illustrator but no dice, so I might have to just bite the bullet and reinstall all of CS5.

I had an issue with Photoshop which wouldn't let me change layer styles on a certain file, I had to delete a certain layer group to get it working again.
