Hmm it only got a -B :(.

Conclusion;
Pros: Apple’s first iPod-branded device with a widescreen display, wireless Wi-Fi antenna, and icon-based touchscreen interface, offered at a lower price than the company’s same-capacity iPhone. Includes iPhone-style music, video, photo, and web browsing features, plus updated versions of several classic iPod applications, plus wireless access to the iTunes Store for audio downloads. Offers longer audio and video run times than last year’s models, in a surprisingly thin package.

Cons: Feels less like a flagship iPod than an intentionally stripped down iPhone, with diminished cosmetics, interface and features. Noticeably downgraded screen exhibits problems such as inverted blacks and dead pixels, which detract from video viewing experience, while shorter battery life, lower storage capacity, longer transfer times, and less impressive audio quality make it a surprisingly so-so alternative to the less expensive iPod classic. Neither Apple’s best portable video or audio device; also lacks games. Continues iPhone’s overly expensive battery replacement program, despite using less powerful battery.

You can use 14.84Gb of the iPod Touch's memory.

Quite disappointing really, may have to reconsider the purchase :(.

It's all up to personal preference - have one, try one before returning if unsatisfied. I've read it and am only using all reviews as references...

Many reviewers seem to forget, iPod Touch is an iPod, not a devil's hell spawn of an iPhone...

Sounds like they got one of the bad batch versions :( which is becoming quite common. Im really hoping mine when it arrives doesnt have the same problem.

Edit: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=358431

Seems if you get a week '38' (SN- 9C738) ipod the screen is much better.

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=358071 - Thread about the week 38 ipod touch. Really hoping I get a week 38, if I do get a week 37 (preordered online) if I dont open it, am I entitled to send it back and request a week 38 because of known screen issues with pre week 38 models?

Though a select minority are still reporting problems with week 38's but thats to be expected.

God, I hope this is sorted out by the time it gets released over here. I'm going to see if I can cancel the engraving on my preorder.

One less thing to worry about if I need to return it.

I've cancelled my order. Does anyone have an idea which will be a newer batch, the pre-order stock or the retail stock? (on launch day)

I'm debating whether to order one or just pick one up from the store.

If you get it from the store you can see which is a Week 38 easier as apparently they have Macy Gray on the box instead of Corinne Bailey or whatever.

Even if you were to get a bad one from the online store, just say its faulty and im sure they will exchange it for you.

Aye they should, but I had to cancel the order to get rid of the engraving (you cant just click 'remove'). Before I re-ordered I just wanted to see what you guys knew about the batches. :)

I might just go ahead as planned, re-order without the engraving. That way I should be able to take it back to a store if its the faulty batch. I think engraved ones have to be returned online and picked up by a courier which is inconvenient for me.

Not true, people have got week 38 with corinne bailey on the front, however, the serial number is located on the back of the box so its easy to check out.
