I'm 31 in three weeks....

Nearly 35, been gaming since '82 on the speccy and Grandstand thing lol.

I've owned a hell of a lot of gaming stuff over the years (recently sold off a massive collection). Gaming for me has gone a bit weird of late, probably due to lack of time and tiredness. I find I get bored of games quite quickly, nothing seems to hold my attention for that long.

I have however been enjoying playing Secret World from time to time I guess. Oddly I've been feeling more drawn towards board gaming, having never really been into it (apart from some 40k stuff when I was a kid) - I'm just discovering there are some really amazing games out there. Ordered a few, really liking the look of 'Zombicide' too.

I'm in a fairly similar boat /re games. I'm trying to get back into coding simple games (I do plenty of development for work but it's not what I'd call interesting).

I've also taken up a fair few board games. Catan, Mansions of Madness, Dominion, A Few Acres of Snow and Lunch Money are amongst my favourites :)

I remember buying zzap 64 every month for the c64 I also had a zx81 ,spectrums,Amigas 500 and 1200 most consoles etc. I was far more excited about games back in those days!

41 next month :(

vic20 generation here ... 3.5K of awesome goodness, when games were coded by
proper programmers in assembly

Vic20->commodore64->amiga500->PC ever since
Tho I also own a ps3 , mainly for blu-rays

@OP, you are still a gaming puppy(the post is a year old btw):

Lol at the 31 year old speccy generation, did you play it in the loft?

Christmas 1982 was when it really exploded, everyone was getting a Spectrum or a Vic 20 that year, remember it well.

im 36 and gaming more now than ever, no kids tho :)

but meeting a gamer partner to spend your life with is the most awesome thing ever, highly recommend it, unless shes better than you ofc :(

My gaming history was a bit strange i guess,

Amstrad CPC 464 (green screen) - oh how i despised the friends who could afford the colour screen, still have it boxed up in my attic now :)

Sega Mastersystem

Sega Megadrive

Sega Mega CD

Then i went a bit weird

Panasonic 3DO - Actually loved this machine, memories of the original Need for Speed

Sony Playstation

Sega Dreamcast

Then onto the first PC and never looked back since :)

I had a colour one until my brother dropped orange juice all over the keyboard, my uncle was a manager at a Clydesdale at the time, he swapped it for the 128.:D

The person saying lol 31 being part of the spectrum generation must have played it in the loft! The C64 and Spectrum were still active until around 1990, my cousin had the Spectrum+2 (Built in tape deck), he is 31!

35 and I'll never stop gaming, my first machine was a C64 but had my first taste of gaming on an Atari 2600 and C16.

45 and been playing games at home since the late 70's when we got a pong console. I've typed many games into many old computers over the years, also someone I used to know, and myself of course, made our own little pong/tennis game for the Spectrum (it was crap).

I seem to have let off the throttle a bit in the last few years so not playing as much as I have done, no MMO currently as I can't find one I want to play, but I'm still wasting cash in every Steam sale :D

Oh and they can prise the mouse and keyboard, for gaming, from my cold dead hands.

To be part of the 'generation', you need to have lived through it in my book not jump on the end and claim you lived it, your cousin at most jumped in when Clive jumped out and Alan took over and milked the death out of the ZX brand.;)

My nearly 8 year old son plays with my old consoles-Megadrive, N64, GBA Advance etc, that doesn't make him part of the generation- that's nostalgic gaming buddy-two entirely different things.

I'm sure some of our senior members will be along to tell you they remember when the forums were all grass and no Muslims stole all the benefits :p

31 is hardly old, Playstation generation is it not?

Amiga generation tyvm!

I am 34, "Spectrum generation".

Still going.

We are the first generation who grew up with games as a choice in our home.

Pfffffft Spectrum generation, Atari generation more like, i got my first games console right about when you where being born ( Atari 2600 ), young pup. :p

The difference between your son playing it is he has to play a machine thats not manafactured anymore my cousin got his new from a shop.
This arguement is getting a bit stupid anyway i thought we were older wiser so im out!
Bye
