i dont know if anyone has seen my other thread about my friend giving me his iphone 3gs but i just wanted to write this about the phone.

what a amazing phone !

this is the second touch phone i have had and the last one was a htc hd2 which i had for a week but couldn't get on with it at all, nice phone but something just didn't feel right about it.

when i got the iphone tuesday morning it was just perfect and felt right not like the hd2,i must admit the touch screen on the iphone works better than the hd2 but im sure someone will say something different.

the phone just oozes class and i cant fault it one bit.

i know there are a lot of iphone user's in here and im glad to be part of that now as this phone is superb.

just one little gripe that ive found and im sure a lot of people will agree.....the battery is shocking but ill look into getting a better battery in the future if they are available.

i have installed a few apps to which are only free but will have a look on heer to see what people are using.

10/10 for the phone :D

Glad you're enjoying the phone, the battery isn't replaceable unfortunately but it's common on the 3G that it lasts about a day.

Tons of apps for the phone, what kind of things are you interested in - I and others might be able to suggest some good apps for you to try.

Yer... why are the iphone batterys so shocking..? I guess they use a totally different type of battery compared to other phones which can last days?

as for app's im not to sure what i like really lol.

i have a few games and some silly ones like talking carl which makes my 3 year old chuckle.

im open to suggestion if anyone has got some please.

thats a shame about the battery but im sure i can live with it lol.

the battery must be really small on the iphone and cant store much power due to being small ?

just a thought.

Most smartphones struggle with battery life I find, my iPhones I usually get a day, can eke it out to two. My G1 was the same (well worse actually), my mate's HTC Desire is absolutely shocking.

Didn't know things were much worse :O though i've never really looked at any others.

Shame really...

Get Angry Birds, that's a pretty good game. A lot of people also have BBC iplayer, just browse to it on Safari then add to your home screen so you have access to TV whenever you want.

you never can tell.

im willing to give one a try if they want to lend it to me or give one for nothing to me ?:D

Go to an Apple store, they'll let you play around for as long as you want :)

They'll give you some lessons if you specifically want tutored lessons, and don't want/have the time to discover everything from scratch.

Once you go mac, you never go back :>

Glad you like the iphone, have you put iOS4 on it or are you sticking with 3?

You just need to buy a Mac now :D
no

thats one thing i will not try im afraid.i like my pc to much.

HAHAHA!! I had to laugh at tha response, I'm the same, I love tweaking my PC and being cost efficient a little too much to ever consider a mac.

I know exactly what you mean OP. The iPhone is just utterly mind blowing when you start to use it. It gives you this feeling of a simplistic ease, well thought out, fast, easy to use interface that is just so appreciated.

I felt the same when I finally took the plunge and bought an iPod (only because it was a $300 model that someone sold me secondhand for $100). I'd spent all this time looking at iPod beaters, with more features and non-proprietary memory expansion, but non of them even come close to an iPod.

is it worth the upgrade or just stick with what i have got ?

is the upgrade on the itunes store ?

I think its worth upgrading to iOS4 on a 3GS, click the phone in iTunes and you can upgrade the OS from there, make a backup first just in case :>

Hehe, I'm sure all Mac owners here said the same! :p

Glad you're enjoying the phone. My mother is nearly 50 and she absolutely loves them, so much so she bought an iPad. She in fact dreads upgrading phones and would still be stuck on a Nokia 3210 if my Father didn't upgrade her. She also switched to a mac a couple of years ago and she loves it, she loves the fact she doesn't have continuos updates and when anything is plugged into it, it'll just work!
