Currently i have a 2500 Barton-M At 2.5Ghz

I just ordered a X2 4800+ In a pc.. the thing is i know its Dual core and i know its got HyperTransport.... but i dont realy know what that means

Does a dual core 4800+ Meen i have 2.4Ghz CPU... or 4.8Ghz because its dule core? and what does HT do......

Thanks everyone :)

The 4800 is just the model number and not the actual speed in MHz. The actual processor runs at 2.4Ghz on each core. HyperTransport is a new technology that increases the bandwith between the CPU, RAM and motherboard. Hope this answers your questions.
I did put its speed as 2.4Ghz.... i have been using AMD long enough to know the rating system lmao :) but ty for your anser both of you :D
