It seems that I've received my first speeding ticket after over ten years of driving. not only that, but I got a second one 7 minutes later on the same road.

I haven't seen the two letters yet, they went to my folks place. Apparently I was doing 41 and 39 in a 30 zone. Looks like it's a fair cop, but it's frustrating to get two for passing the same camera in both directions. I never even saw the camera.
All whilst picking up some bits for the 8 from the BMW dealership during my lunch break.
It's stupidly easy to creep over 30 with a v8 and an auto pulling you along, sometimes I spend more time on the brakes than the accelerator but this wasn't one of those times. I really should have known this road was likely to be watched sometimes. Although you'd half expect it to be categorised as a 40 zone, since it's two lanes each way.

I could have done without the fines this month, vie got and mot and valve cover gasket replacement to pay for.

Any way, mini rant over....

Thats unlucky mate... It might not effect your premiums as much as you think it would. Do you know what the fines are yet?

Isn't there a rule about getting done twice in a short space of time whereby it only counts once?

Well you can't be punished for the same offence twice so as long as you haven't dropped below the speed limit between the two cameras then you can't be done for the second one.

You will however be crucified for dangerous driving or similar......

It's a great way to help problems

But not when driving, because when you get pulled over by the police at 2am because they think 'your under the influence of alcohol' and the breathalyser comes back as 0, their look is priceless

I don't drink, so that's not a problem/solution for me.
It is two separate offences unfortunately. I stopped at the BMW place which is on the road I got caught on, and got the second ticket on my way back to works offices.
