hey hey, i need a new joystick as my previous el cheapo Trust Predator XK has died, the wires broken somewhere and no ammount of repairing ever seemed to help, and now one of the buttons has collapsed on it.

to be fair that joystick was a pile of carp so lookin for somethin half decent this time round, wouldnt mind somethin thats got force feedback on it.

main game ill be usin with it is x-wing alliance and other star wars games and possibly BF2 etc

any suggestions without goin horribly expensive?

i've had loads of sticks and my experiences have taught me that anything made by saitek or logitech is simply not good enough, they just dont last.i bought a saitek cyborg 3d from the purple shirt shop when my MSFF2 died.had to return it so many times it was a joke, absolute rubbish.
microsoft sidewinder force feedback 2 is a legendary stick and i had one for a couple of years.not made now but theres always fleabay.
CH combatstick is what i have now and its absolutely the dogs.had it over a year and despite getting a fair amount of use and abuse its still perfect.it was'nt cheap but with sticks you get what you pay for.

Cyborg Evo. Has never let me down. It is customisable for lefties, and you can alter the head position and the grip position depending on how big your paw is.

Haven't tried the force feedback version however, as imo ff isn't well implemented in PC games.

Anyone ever used a wireless stick, and was it any good? There's a saitek one for sale here, and I've seen a logitech one too but it was 75 euro

Think i may go for the Saitek evo or force one then. wireless, as awesome as it is, may proove to be a bit of pain after a bit with batteries etc

eddie_slovik, you sound like you use your joystick quite a lot, I dont think ill be using this one loads, but enough to justify gettin somethin even half decent. I reckon a saitek or logitech may last me a couple of years at least. will have to see

Ive got a logitech wireless one, will double check the model when I get home, it is a seriously awsome joystick. feels lovely, got big feet so you can really use it forefully but stays still, buttons are nice and easy on the fingers

DO NOT buy a Saitek Evo Wireless - biggest hassle ever. Don't get me wrong, the stick itself is great but the wireless is horrendous. Juts check the Saitek official forums if you need some feedback.

I had mine for a few weeks and it was always dropping out, lagging and this was with the receiver 2 feet from it and new batteries - I just don't think they've got the wireless working right.

I would recommend the wired version though definitely based on the actual stick itself.

I took it back to the shop and got an X-52 instead which ROCKS!!! :D
