So not really anything just wanted to express how happy i am!

I got a new GPU, SSD and a couple of other bits.
Comparing to my old HDD which was so bad that it got a 2.8 rating on windows this SSD is insane, i don't even have to wait for windows to load!!
The main reason i got an ssd was for bf4, not a minutes wait to get into game, before i'd be waiting at least 20 minutes

The 290X is an absolute animal, it's huge. Just going to fire up some games and see how it does.
And i love my OCUK mouse mat ;)

Thanks to OCUK (and DPD) i got it all the next morning.

An SSD is far and away the best upgrade in terms of general PC performance. I remember being staggered by the improvement when I got my first one.

SSD's are by far the best thing to come to computers in many many years. I've put them in old Core2Duo machines and they absolutely fly along, brings old tech back to life, and makes new tech feel as fast as it should :)

That's what I like to hear :p I've now got Xfire 280X and they perform better than I thought. For a fairly budget system, it does very well! A lot of my components are second hand.

the main thing is did you get any haribo??

glad your happy with the parts and ssds are really good and worth the upgrade at current prices!

I have 2 x Samsung evos 840s 250GB

what ssd did you get?

Of course, that was the first thing i checked for!

I got a 256GB MX100.

Very nice, i want them to come down in price so i can get a terabyte one

Making the move over to an SSD from a HDD is probably the upgrade that makes the biggest difference to how responsive and snappy your computer feels. Gratz on the 290x :)

Just saw in the 290X Thread and believe it is the 15/20 Rajineck cooler.

Impressive at 4.6 on your 4690k with it!

Yeah if i'm honest, I don't have a clue, I don't like it, i want to go water cooled. Need to do some research on them and will probably buy one next week and then save for a full watercool set up.

I want to go further.. See what i can get out of it! (when i change the cooler and get a couple more fans)

Good luck, Think with that cooler to achieve 4.6 Stable it must be a good chip.

Whats your V Core and temps?

Yeah i was surprised too.

Temps of low to mid 70's, has gone up from 68-70 since i added the new GPU. Vcore of 1.25V :)

Yeah, i've never overclocked before this so i've stress tested the **** out of it to make sure it's stable.

I'm moving onto the GPU next, don't quite understand that yet so a little more research required.

I am running Windows 8.1 in an old C2D machine with only 3GB. The SSD I have makes a massive difference to the way everything runs. I wouldn't want to go back to not having one again. (I have had much faster machines and then downscaled).

You will be very happy with your system :-)

Yeah mine is pretty cheap too. I'm over the moon with how it's performing.

And, what's mantle? BF4 deciding to use it haha.

Mantle is Amd's own API which takes off load from CPU and talks more to GPU, not a lot of games have the option of mantle but those who do like bf4 get brutal FPS
