Hi,

Phoned Apple this afternoon and blaged HE discount!

Went for the standard config macbook, masically as I aint gonna be doing anything graphics or cpu intensive on it, although I must admit in 3 years I'll get a macbook pro!

Got the apple care thingy for £47!!! I thaught it was worth it considering its a laptop & the two real mates i know have one both have had faults. So, at least I know im covered.

So total costs were:

Macbook 2.1ghz, 1gb ram, 120 gb hdd.

Apple remote

Apple care

all for £661 delivered!!!!!!

Proper happy, played with a few macbooks recently and it is the best quality notebook I have ever seen. Well happy with the 13" screen as its gonna be light and portable! Just what I need!

Someone give me a *High Five*

*high five* matey. I can't wait to raise £1.8k for my new imac this summer. Makes working in the bars of york worth while. :)

nice one :) I'm jelous, I'm saving my pennies to get a mac not sure what one yet but one day soon.

Enjoy your new toy when it arrives.

Cool, enjoy your macbook, can remember how excited I was when I got my blackbook, I bought mine in a store though as I couldn't wait for it, some of us don't need to fake being a student :p.
Have a look on the apple website, there are some nifty tutorials that are worth watching.

Might be worth getting this book to kick-start things:)

Thanks for the link, I may try and rent this at the library, but I was naugty and ran a hackintosh to learn me the basics. I remeber thinking "how the fudge do I install anything" google didnt return much, when I finally worked out it was as simple as drag and drop I relalised it was too simple to document :p

Congratulations, ordered my first macbook (2.4Ghz, 2Gb version) yesterday as well. Looking forward to it after 15 years of Windoze. :D

Beware as you will form a some what freakily close relationship with your MacBook. Mine is called Pismo and sleeps in the bedroom with me. I like to make sure the little fellow is ok when sleeping and I watch his little light glow and dim. Regular cleaning helps keep him nice and shiny too!* :D

* Okay, this is a little weird. Perhaps I should get out more? ;) :o

You ok mate?

Sounds like you do have problems... :( :p

Im now starting to think I should have got the mid specced macbook lol.

It was an extra £112 though, nah..... im happy with my base macbook. If I had got the mid range macbook I still would have end up putting 4gb ram in, so the extra ram on the mid spec would have been wasted as I would have ripped it out.

The DVD RW, well I havent written a DVD in 18 months, just use my network or usb stick....... think I have re-justified the bas macbook lol.

Im so bloody excited.......

Don't blame you, I was excited before I got my MBP. Couldn't tear myself away after I got it!
