The windy empty NZ roads have drawn me back on to two wheels after leaving the UK a few years ago! Picked up a 2010 CB1000R Predator today and it's a load of fun compared to the ZX6R I used to ride. Fireskull will be happy I didn't get another Kawi (although I reckon he actually secretly loved it).
Was going to go for the 2012 Fireblade, but after test riding it I didn't feel safe on that bike after an absence of a few years as its pretty mental and does not forgive any mistakes you make. Had a massive grin after testing it, but it was more of a nervous "thank god I didn't die" sort of grin!! May pick up the CBR1K in a few months as I love the look and feel of the new CBR, but at the moment it just feels far too fast so I went for the sensible approach after taking advice from mates and stuck with the CB1000R as it felt much more user friendly when I tested it out. It's like riding in an armchair compared to the CBR!!
Loving it so far and went out with a mate on his Triple and had a fun blast. It's so easy to ride compared to a super sport, but I do miss the looks of the sports bikes!
Part of me regrets being sensible and thinks I should have just gone with the Fireblade and just taken it easy, but the other part had a lot of fun today without any dramas at all on the Predator. Maybe I should just buy both
