Dunno if anyone remembers me but i'm back folding for team 10 :)

Will add a few PC's and maybe my PS3 (depends on if it is like a jet taking off lol) into the mix soon.

Been a while, so can't remember many names but Hello anyways.

Been down on computers and been up to other things. Was a regular on 50K for gaming but given that up now so have a few spare PC's now to get folding.

Whats the score with graphics card folding did that ever take off?

Looks like we'll be doing some overtakes in the next few weeks!

Hello.:)

The ATI cards seem to be supported, I've got a couple of 1950's happily folding away after a few teething troubles.:)

Welcome back to team 10:D

PS3's seem to be OK with crunching, thousands of new crunches can't be wrong though I'm not one of them so I don't know about the noise:o

ATI X19xx series GPU's are recomended, it will run on older ATI cards but very slowly. there is more info in the sticky and on Stanfords FAQ pages.

Dual core crunching with the SMP client is the highest scoring method at present for those with X2's and C2D's. linux is faster than the native windows version, check out SiriusB's SMP guide thread.

I've just stomped you as an inactive member & now like the undead you are reanimating - should have had my stake & mallet handy:)

Welcome back & I trust you handle will indicate yr contribution to good old team 10.

I remember you from the past (jeez, that makes me sound old !) when I'd just started ... I even have a record ...

To get your old place back (pos. 9), you'd now have to be getting over 3,563 ppd to beat magman. Quite a difference, ain't it. Hope you're gonna do your best ;)

Cheers for the welcomes!

I remember you A.N. Other, :) Remember me always trying to stay ahead of the Alabama Slammer on the weekly's haha! That is a fair jump in production i've got to pull out of the bag!

I have a PS3 that i'm going to set up for folding.. (just having a network issue at the mo ie my router flaked out) can you change the team for ps3 folding?

I have a few P4's that are folding as i speak oh and a X2 Dual 3800 on vista that i'm just about to set up. (what sort of ppd do they get?)

Expect the P4's to start submitting today at some point.

I have a 2800 XP that i might even borg can't expect anything more than 40ppd out of that to be honest.

I have a dual cpu Opteron 275 (i think) motherboard and the cpu's lurking about in the loft, never got it up and running as the memory was a bitch to get... will look into that if it's worth the hassle of building/buying memory??? I'd imagine i'd have to run the new spangly SMP client? reliable?

Would 4 sticks of 256MB ie 256MB per core be enough to run the client reliably with out degrading the speed much or am i looking to have to fork out for 4 512's??

Not quite at the stage of parpin yet, but i am back from the dead and will be in the overtake lane soon! bring on 100K in a few hours!

That should be sufficient. Most WUs have each FahCore_a1.exe process using ~100 MiB memory.

You wouldn't have to - you could run standard clients instead - but the points are much better running SMP :D The same goes for the X2 3800

PS3s are pretty quiet when Folding from what I've heard.
