A little challenge for you all, which should be fun. If money were no object, what hardware would you buy?

The purpose of this thread is to spec the most expensive and extravagant machine possible. The only rules are as follows:

Apart from monitor(s), keyboard, mouse and backup drive(s), all components must realistically be able to fit and run inside the case you have chosen.

All components must be avaiable to purchase from OCUK. Items which are currently out of stock are acceptable.

You can include an Operating System in the total price, but no other software.


I will post my very expensive basket after seeing a few others.

But that would then be a dual FX-74 setup, which sucks compared to the intel QX6700... most expensive != best

Anyway, you can get a custom made platinum, diamond encrusted case if you really want to.

I'd say at least 90% of the people on here have done it many times before.
I know i have. I especially like doing it on the apple website with the radio-button choices (woooo - £13,449.03 worth of applemac )

but theres a difference with someone browsing OCUK and building the most expensive rig, and this posting about people going on the website and post the most expensive rig.

Anyway, I got £3500+ on a QX6700/Abit 680/4GB Dominator/2x 8800GTX/2x Raptor/Terrabyte WD etc. machine. Bit of a waste of money really

Edit make that £3800+ with eclipse and 1kW psu.
