Hey all, does anyone know of a good IM app for the iPhone which works with Windows Live/MSN and can run in the background(i.e.when I'm at the dashboard) and can alert when I have recieved a message, I'd rather keep it free but a small charge may be bearable. Not a lot of info given on the appstore and don't want to downlad them all lol.

I dont think any will run in the background.
You could get fring from appstore and then use cydia to get the program that lets apps run in the background but it will eat your battery!

No app will run in the background (officially), but there are some hacks available if you have a jailbroken iPhone.
Most of the IM clients support the MSN network, it's a case of reading the descriptions on the appstore. I've used Fring (lets you do free Wi-Fi calling), and it's alright.
