I'm getting a Radeon 5850, should I get a 6*** instead? (Within £100 - £130)

So yeah, is it worth going to the 6 series or is the 5850 especially good?

Go for the 5850, the best card by far at that price.

Would have to be a 6870, not a 6850 really.....
There is not much between the 5850 and 6870 in performance terms - very comparable, with one card being better in one benchmark, the other in another !
Ultimately, the 68xx series is newer tech, with better implementation of DX11 by all accounts, but the 5850 will win through in a lot of situations too
I went for a 5850, as felt it slightly more powerful overall......and soooper good at mining

Haha not surprised. I'm cutting it close though, traveling from Stafford to the headquarters at about 4.15, and it closes at 5.30.

If there is any traffic, I will be very annoyed. >:|

You can get a 6870 for £124, though it's not that much better than a 5850, though as has been said, is newer tech and should last a little longer.

Plus if cross fire ever becomes an issue the 6 series scales better.
