Im getting no sound!

Im getting no sound, i have everything plugged in and still nothing. I came home today to go on the computer and it said no sound input device detected. So i restarted and it seems to detect everything, got volume up and everything but it just dosent have any sound, really annoying me. Anyone got any suggestions?

I dont have standalone speakers btw, its just the speakers on my monitor.

Is it on board sound or a separate sound card? a few other things did this happen out of the blue or was it after you added some thing new.. It could possibly be the drivers. You could also try the monitor on another computer (if you can get hold of one) to make sure the speakers on that are not faulty
