i'm going to ask a stupid question

You did not hear that on this forum because its a proven fact time & time again that GTA4 runs better on Quads & many independent reviews show the same.

How well it uses the 4 cores is irrelevant when it runs better overall.

It certainly does not run any better on a quad core, I should know, I bought one for it and it's no better than my old E6750. It uses all fours cores, just not very much. As it did with my Dual Core. GTA is simply rubbish.

And there are no stupid questions, only stupid people.

Is this actually true though? I've only seen a couple tests which were done at 1280x1024..which yes will show the CPU differences but not a very realistic resolution...

in the GTA4 benchmark I still get a good 56fps average at 2048x1152 with a dualy at 4ghz

i quote:-

``The 965's higher clock speed, we reckon, will result in the chip arriving at market with a price tag of around £200.``

there are also rumours of a 3.8GHz version due out by Xmas

It does not run better on a Quad on your set-up.

That does not mean its the same for everyone else just like Crossfire as been very good for me but nothing but trouble for others.

In not going to split hairs over GTA4.

A comment was made that GTA4 is troublesome with quads that was read elsewhere which i have not come across & that not what i have seen on this forum.
