I'm going to Stamford Bridge

I got tickets for the game against Valencia
So excited should be a cracking game!

so like which station is the best to go to during match days?

also On the way out is it wise to avoid the underground?

I need to get back to the heathrow area - which route should I take? (was thinking getting buses as long as it don't take more than 2 hours)

The Fulham Road is closed on match days:

As is the main entrance to Fulham Broadway station before and after a match. The back entrance is used at the time. But do you the tube as it does not take more than around ten minutes to get to the platform. You will probably have to wait for the next tube when you get there. Just bear to the right when you have left the Bridge as the police filter the crowd to the station.

It is the quickest way back to Hearthrow and change at Earls Court for the Piccadilly. Also be prepared for a very crowded platform at Earls Court for the District line getting there.

wouldnt i be better off walking to earls court like pro waster said?

As it's your first time I would take the tube and leave the walk for a nice sunny day and then walk throught the graveyard.

thanks I'll print your map :)

I have been to Stamford Bridge, I was ok though.

I'm only joking, but their fans certainly have a less than savoury reputation when it comes to those sorts of issues. Their captain too allegedly.

well they are the celery throwers lol

that is football racism is still there if the top man blatter comes out with these comments it doesn't help anyone.

Times have changed considerably since the days when you wouldn’t want to take your mum or girlfriend to a game anywhere. Each club still has its hard heads but these days they are a dying breed of dinosaurs and can be ignored.

Have lots of fun and enjoy the game. :)

thanks :)

we're in the upper east stand not great imho but it will do
I expect a close game but chelsea to win

I haven't been able to get to the emirates for a while but in general I assume the same things apply as others have said.

Going to the nearest station means long queues, and if you're lucky and get to the front of a platform while waiting for the next train, the feeling of impending death :p

Same for buses, its always amazing how a 10 minute walk to a bus stop or tube stop further down the line can save you literally hours. So as others suggested, pick a suitable place to walk to either a bus or tube station and ignore the closest ones.

thanks I'm thinking earls court atm
i know it might be a walk on the cold but im tooled up

I'm going to print out maps etc
