So good day all..

Im totally new to forums so please excuse me if im a little dumb to start with, i have been stalking the forums a while trying to pick up some tips but eventually just got totally confused again.

Anyway.....

The power supply on my old system is starting to make real horrible grinding noises so i think im going to take the plunge and replace it myself {easy small stuff for a lot of you but remember im new}

So.... my motherboard is the Asus M4N68T-M-LE-V2 can anyone for a start recomend from experience a great Psu for that board to start with.
{moduler or semi moduler would be great}

Im happy with it being an ''overpowered'' Psu in terms of too much power for my system right now as if this part goes well im going to be back trying out replacing other parts as the weeks and months go by.

ps.. sorry in advance for the wall of txt ;)

Hi and welcome.

I need to know also what the rest of the spec might end up being?

Also a budget?

Welcome,

seen bigger walls of text, especially in GD.

Anyway, most PSU's with work with your motherboard.

It will be helpful to know the rest of your system specs, to see what power you need.

Do you have a budget in mind? Do you know what you current PSU is?

Thank you for the welcomes..

I have currently an AMD Phenom 11 x2
With 4 megs of ram
And a GTS 450 graphics.
with then the usual cd rom drive and a couple of fans..

Like i say im going to try and do the power supply first so it's compatable with this spec and any future motherboard upgrades and graphic card ones i plan to in the future as well.
Thats why i say i dont mind if the one i get now is overpowerd for what i currently have..

Eventually i guess as time and funds allow i will upgrade everything. but starting small and easy first

{my current psu is a no brand model 500 watt} {and budget around about £100 for this first one}

Any of these and can be used for the rest of your upgrades. But you will require a 750w psu, if you decide at some point that you want dual gpu(sli/xfire).

Thank you so much for taking the time to help..

I realy like the look of the Silverstone one but unfortunatly that 500W is out of stock..

So im going to jump in with both feet and go for the 750W one, hopefully i wont blow anything up.
