Im Going to upgrade, But is DDR3 Worth it?

Hi Guys,

I’m new to the forum so hello!

My current Setup is:

E6600 @3.3GHz
Geil 6400 ram 750 MHz Summit
Asus P5W Motherboard
8800GTS 640Mb XXX Edition.

Now I’m looking for a worthwhile update as a friend is going to buy my current machine off me. I’ve been looking on tests on DDR3 Vs DDR2 ram and found hardly any difference between the two. This is what I was thinking of doing.

Purchasing:

Asus P5E3 Deluxe Motherboard (DDR3, X38 Chipset Etc )
DDR3 Ram (OCZ 1800MHZ 8-8-8-24)
8800GTX 768MB
And was going to use an E6300 until the new 45nm Chips are out beginning of the New Year.

My Question is. Is it worth it? I have the money to buy these components but would I benefit in the future?

Personally I would wait until it comes down in price. DDR2 is so cheap at the moment.
