some time has passed since the last tie i did some folding but i got the new rig on and it's worth testing the new wc so while i'm at work why not let it fold :d let's see how it behaves.

Meanwhile i'm letting a VM on one of my server do some work too. Might put a rosetta on one VM too just to help the team a little :D

so it seems i can't get the folding gpu to work as my ati card is not supported, any suggestions for a hd 4670?

Also i'm running a server with a few VM, is it better to run a single client on each VM or the smb on the cluster?

and on top of that, what's the best setting for a Phenom II 965 @ 3.4 considering it will be crunching from 1am to 6pm?

any help much appreciated ;)

The 4670 is supported for GPU folding as I've just tried mine with the 6.43 client but it really isn't worth the effort.

If the VMs support multiple threads/cores then run smp clients. The return will be much better once you've passed the ten-WU probationary period. You must have a passkey for this to work. Make sure enough RAM is allocated to the VM.

I'd try the Phenom with smp WUs to see how it goes. If it can complete a WU in the time it's on it may be worth using the -oneunit flag so it only crunches one at a time and isn't paused with an active WU.

i've started the phenom before leaving this morning and will see how far it gets when i get home tonight. As far as the VMs are going i can see it's doing a small unit in around 7 hours.

I made sure before restarting all of them that i entered the passkey so i might put more Vms to crunch small units later on today and see what happens.

The cluster is taking quite a long time to do a big unit so not sure about that one.

As far as i can see the 4670 seems to have problems with some opencl drivers. reading on the f@h forums it seems i need to reverse to earlier drivers to get it to work, will give that a try later on
