I'm looking to buy my new system, unsure whether to wait

Okay I've got my eyes on a Q6600, 8800GTS (overclocked ofc), 2gb geil 6400, a P35 based motherboard.

I can't help but nag at myself to wait for X38 due to PCI-E 2.0 and DDR3.

Will PCI-E 2 take off well, or will it simply be a new thing which isn't used in the mainstream for a good few years? What will PCI-E 2 graphics cards cost on release, my budget for a card is about £250.

Basically, is it worth the wait, or shall I just go ahead when the G0 Q6600's are in stock?

whats your current system? would you value spending money on that sort of system from the current system you have atm?
