So im currently using a gtx 670 gpu But with the hdmi dose hdmi make any diffrence to visual like it dose on say the xbox 360? as on the xbox u see a massive diff!!! also what is the recommended hz for gaming? my current monitor is only 60hz but its a really cheap old 1 that im just using for this time as i only built this pc 2 days ago :D

Ah haha im sure thats its sister? also is there any diffrence with hdmi over dvi? and 1 more thing haha is there a big diffrence with 1920x1080? over something smaller?

HDMI can carry audio but it is stuck at 60hz where as a dual link DVI cable can carry much higher resolutions at can run at 120hz but has no support for audio (speakers in monitors are crap anyway).

Yea i have speakers dont use monitor ones haha so say i used 1xDVI i wont be getting full 120hz? as im thinking of buying the HannsG HS233H3B

No, a dual link dvi cable looks the same as a single link dvi cable, but there are more pins in he connector.

Hdmi is similar to dvi but can carry sound too. You need hdmi 1.4 for 120hz @1080p iirc.

Hdmi is an improvement for xbox because it comes as standard with those crappy composite cables that only do.. Well I can't even remember the crappy resolution they support because it's so 1990s. The hdmi allows the xbox to output at 1080p technically, although they're too ****weak to manage that so games run at 720p iirc.

A low hz (refresh rate) monitor does not limit your fps, but if your fps is a above the refresh rate it will not be displayed and can cause screen tearing.

I think that's everything..

Seems like you are a heavy gamer? if so definitely try spend extra and get the BenQ XL2420T you will love it with the 670.(it will also show it's true potential rather than a 60hz monitor as it will hit near 120fps often in new titles unless you like huge tearing :p.)

You also get the dual link dvi cable with it.

Im currently getting back into gaming... got rid of my other gaming pcs last year and well decided to build my self a new 1 and get back into it but yes when my broadband is connected (TALKTALK!!!ARGH) then yes i will be playing a lot. And thanks everyone for teaching me a lesson hehe will look into the benq xl and ill hopefully purchase it this week :D
