Hello,

I am new to OSX and I was wondering if someone can guide me and explain the things I need to know as I have currently took the switch from Windows 7 and bought a Macbook Pro i7

I also heard theres many shortcuts and things you can do with the trackpad..

Do I need an antivirus?

How do I maintain OS X and keep it quick?

Best of regards,
Coughs

Check out the sticky or post a reply when you get stuck and someone will help out.

You can find out about the gestures you can perform with the trackpad and customise them in System Preferences > Trackpad. Or search for trackpad in Spotlight (Command Key + Spacebar).

Antivirus is not not needed as much as on Windows, but if you're downloading files from untrusted sources you possibly will need it to be safe.

OS X doesn't suffer from defragmentation like Windows does, so you shouldn't have to worry about losing any performance while using the machine.

Forget antivirus.

To keep your Mac quick, just use it. It will deal with it all pretty much itself.
