I think XP is holding back my Sammy NC10 and was looking for a good linux distro (?) to install. Now Im aware I might lose out on a lot of appplications.

But is there any way possible of doing this and still being able to run games such as Worms Armageddon and Football Manager 2009?

Or am I going to have to have a dual boot or something?

Thanks

Disclaimer: I am a complete n00b to Linux but am aware it can run better/lightly.

Netbooks are slow. The only way you would gain a lot of speed is by installing a very small distro from scratch. By scratch I'm talking no apps at all. Starting with a command line and no xserver. This isn't something you want to take lightly if you've never used Linux/Unix before.
XP on the NC10 is fine. Work on stripping out the rubbish and turning off unneeded services instead. You will not get the gaming speed you want by running Wine on Linux on an Atom.

If you slap on something like ubuntu, fedora or whatever it can work well but you may lose some battery life due to non working power management. I'd experiment with Linux on a PC before you brick your new netbook. :)
