I want to overclock to boost performance. However I've only run into issues and stress so far.

I started out overclocking my i7 6700k to 4.6. After a while in CSGO I blue screen so I just reverted back to the old settings.

I then attempted my GPU. I'm looking at guides and people have insane stats yet I can't even manage to boost a small amount without crashing etc.

people have these type of settings - https://gyazo.com/78537bae4421258246a6c4dbec086db0

Yet this is mine - https://gyazo.com/67f85dec3fefe6b4fb064f461276bed6

What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure which bit of my post you're saying you didn't do, so I'll assume you didn't try anything between.

As far as I can tell you immediately went to a high overclock with no testing below that, didn't look at voltages, and then didn't stress test but went straight into a game. You need to read some guides from basics, because unless the game has changed dramatically in the last few years, you're just making random gambles.

First what motherboard and cooling are you using , and when you say overclock, you did it manually or some auto setting on your motherboards bios ?

Lots of good info above,

Reading your GPU, info your only 50 off core clock from the other post, thats quite possible on the silicone lottery possible, GPu overclocking doesn't make THAT much difference anyone, maybe there is a full custom water cooled unit etc.

Don't beleive any picture you see on the internet other than a guide, people might set them to those setting but it doesn't mean they run them 24/7 when gaming etc.
Worry less about what other people are getting and just concentrate on your kit.

What cpu cooler you using?

I was pretty sure CS GO ran at some stupid like 250 + FPS these days anyway :)
