"I'm not going to mod it"

Then I've been mislead by many a post on CTRO. Pretty much every topic to do with these two engines results in about 50 posts all saying that they spin the opposite direction to each other...

I think the engine turns normally, but the gearbox reverses through the drive shaft(s)

The gearbox on the K20s is the otherside of the car to the old B16 engines (known for spinning backwards).

Not that it matters that much anyway :)

They usually just turn the engine the other way when doing ek/eg K20 civics:)

No they dont, they simply fit them as per a Honda K20 factory engine engine.

Theres no turning them around as its a complete K20 drop in. With the diff to the rear of the engine.

That's probably because the power delivery is so smooth.

There's no sudden changes in the power when a turbo comes on song, and they're mapped so that the VTEC doesn't "kick" like the older, earlier VTEC systems did - you just get a smooth, progressive power delivery.

Also, you have to realise that the little thing between the two seats with the numbers written on it has to be used more regularly to keep it on-song ;)

Are you actually talking about a F20C here?

I just did a search as I was starting to doubt myself and I did notice quite a few people saying this, but I'm almost certain it's not the case.

I suspect the confusion comes from the D, B and H series engines which AFAIK all turn "backwards".

I think the confusion comes from the fact that in the F20 the cams spin the other way than the crank as mentioned in that article (never knew that).

Well, you learn something new every day. Thanks for that.

Well, my car has sold. Didn't take long atall, I had interest within minutes of putting the ads up

Wow, that was quick.

Sure was, I priced it to sell but wasn't expecting it to go quite that quickly

Skillshot. When you getting the new one?

*n

So when do you pick up the new one then?

All being well, next weekend.

I guess by your sig you have a dc2, why not get a dc5? (My dream car at the min)

Like I've said 5-times in this thread now, I don't have that kind of budget :)

Nope, he hasn't actually picked it up yet. He's on his way as I type this as it happens.
