I'm not listening to the new Audioslave album right now

It came out on Monday didn't it ? Friend has been listening to it all week (original cd).

Went over his yesterday and listened to it, very very good album, did really enjoy it

Blimey, I thought it was dire...I personally see it as by far the worst thing they've put out and feels very rushed.

may i ask in what way?

Audioslave are pretty much RATM, just without the lead singer (Zak) when RATM split, Audioslave were formed

you can tell from the rhymn on the guitars that they are very similar.

Loved the first 2 albums, yet to pick up the third. Twas a shame they dropped out of playing Reading this year, would have been an experience seeing them live.

I think I will have to get this one at some point though as I didn't know it was out yet. I'm sure I have one of their albums, I think it was the first one, but I can't remember just now as it's been a while since I've listened to it.

I wasn't a massive fan of the second album, but this is much better. Maybe its because there's nothing else going on at the moment.

New Mars Volta album? ;)

I agree though, this is a lot better than the last effort - still not anywhere near as the sum of it's parts though.

Some of the guitar work on this album

Im not sure if i should buy this album, i thought their first album was pretty bad, but i was expecting RATM, i loved rage. Is there any news on zak, is he making music still? Any chance anyone wants to write a mini review on this album?

I really like this so far, some amazing songs and some not so good. Like Icebus said, there's some nice guitar work.

I've been looking forward to heavier music from Audioslave for a while now, and I'm happy with this album. Before, I felt like the band was being wasted on Cornell's songs.

you learn something new everyday :p

I was more asking why does this album sound more RATM then the last, im a pretty big rage fan but the only thing i havent heard now is live and rare, running out of stuff to watch/listen lol

Haha, have you heard the last Audioslave album ? This one, has the same rhythm section, the same type of guitar riffs, just reminds me of RATM in the terms of the drums and guitar work.

Excellent.

I've never been able to get into Audioslave. I've not liked any of their albums, including their latest offering. It's just poor and outdated.

They're such an odd sounding band who should never have formed and been happy with the RATM and Soundgarden legacy. Chris Cornell is just not compatible with the RATM sound and vice versa.

Soundgarden and Rage= Legendary
Audioslave = Epic abortion

Dunno what to make of the new album it's not as diverse as the last two, wasn't a massive fan of the second album though. If you go back and listen to the first album, I think it sounds less gimiky and much more intelligently though out.
