I'm not too sure how to word this...

...So, sorry if it's came up before, but I don't have a clue how to word it for a search. What I'm looking to find though is, I'm sure I have seen something to do with having a "folder" that can contain "files" from other locations other than the physical location of that folder. I know I could achieve the same using shortcuts, but is there a way to do with out shortcuts? What I might have seen could be from some features of windows home server, but I don't know, anyone one have any idea what I'm on about?

I think I catch your drift - on Vista you can do this with Stored/Saved Search results I think.

As long as you can craft a search that will find the files you want, you can then save that search and run it again.

Sidethink is the closest to what I think i have seen with vista. I don't want to use shortcuts because loads of them can be quite untidy and i would have to delete or make new ones to keep up with any changes.
