I'm out of the loop

I'm out of the loop when it comes to laptops.

I'm looking to buy one for the girlfriend for Christmas, budget £1,200-1,500.

Three key requirements:

• not a masculine design
• good for writing
• capable of mid-level gaming (Sims 4 and Zoo Planet)

I did look at the MS Surface, seems stylish and some decent specs... but I'm really not sure about the GPU market for laptops.

Any advice is appreciated!
