I'm really not well and need some guidance with my first PC build

I currently have an illness and have been given liquid morphine and some other stuff.

I would like to complete building my first PC so I can take my mind off all this for now. I want to build it and focus on single player gaming and creating 3D art, but I'm compromised atm.

I currently have a B360 Aorus motherboard with a i9-9900K CPU which I think I installed correctly. I added a pea drop of MX-4 thermal compound and think I correctly installed a Hyper 212 Evo cooler. I added 4x32GB of ram. I had to move the cooler fan to the other side, or I think the cooler fan would have blocked a RAM slot.

I stopped the build today at the installation of the M.2 2280 SN500 NVMe SSD. I wasn't sure what M.2 slot to install it to. There are two M.2 slots on the B360 motherboard. The top one, nearest the CPU states M2A_32G on the motherboard.

Is that the correct slot for a WD Blue 2GB SN550 M.2? I'm smacked out on morphine and need advice. If I can get this PC running, I can get my head straight. Just need a creative outlet so I can ride this out.

I know this is a strange thread. I bet I'm asking obvious questions.

The case is an ANTEC DF500 RGB. I've installed all 4 RAM sticks. I think I need to add the M.2 SSD now, then screw the motherboard to the case, then add the 3070 Ti (if it fits) and plug it all together. Not sure what to do from there.

*Found a YouTuber that has Windows 10 64 Pro licenses for $12 (I'm in the UK)**

*(Please delete that part if inappropriate. Not sure if Overclockers sell Windows.)

So I'm stuck on which slot to fit the M.2 so I can continue this build.

I haven't screwed the motherboard to the case yet. Also have a Asenno 2TB SSD.

The PSU is a used CX850M from eBay. I haven't tested it. It only has 2 of it's modular leads. One has x2 6 pin / 2 pin PCI-E connectors and the other appears to be SATA with 4 connectors.

I have 6 motherboard screws, but I know the board should have 8.

Not sure what drive to install Windows 10 yet.

(if all my components work)

But yeah, is the M2A_32G the correct slot for the SN550?

The monitor is a 98" 4K LG.

Internet connection is Virgin Gig1 Fibre via direct ethernet.

Generally you use the top m.2 slot first (nearest cpu) with the drive you intend to use for your os, your other drive a sata drive?

Usually have 9 screws for the motherboard to case there should be all the screws you need in motherboard box and a few tiny ones for the m.2 drives, my last case had

the standoffs preinstalled in the case for a standard atx motherboard you will need to check they match your motherboard

Looks somewhat like "throw darts with eyes closed" parts:
Low end board.
Just mid level 8 core CPU.
But above super high end 128GB of RAM.
And standard level cooler for CPUs very high real heat output capability.

While can't say for sure without exact motherboard model, lower M.2 slot has likely only two PCIe lanes and you need to use upper slot to not cause any bottleneck.
Though not that there would be likely any without benchmarks detectable difference from ~2GB/s limit of two lanes.

That PSU is going to be issue.
For any higher graphics card you'll want to use fully separate power cable for every connector instead of daisy chained.
Also Corsair CX isn't any top quality designed to last long PSU.
So especially without knowledge of how it's been used it might be wearing down.

I hope you get well soon 121 and can come off the morphine.

Just put the M.2 drive into the top slot it will be fine. Install the OS to the M.2 NVME SSD.

I would not use a second hand PSU like that and would order a new one . If you like Corsair the the RMx 750w would be a good one or Phanteks Amp 750w is bit cheaper.

If the drugs are affecting you a lot you may want to ask for help finishing the build.
