Having had my Van Van for a few months and having had OK weather I have been riding to work everyday. I have really noticed a difference with my bank balance

It cost's me 7.50 per week to get to work a damn sight cheaper than My BMW E46 Sport

I also find the ride invigorating and fun...

since buying the VV its been a win win situation not just financially but breaking the daily grind off the commute. Fingers crossed we have a Mild winter as the thought of using my car again for work is dull and expensive.

Cheers

easy

I know what you mean.
Although I don't commute, the bike is saving huge amount. Almost twice mpg and 1/5 the insurance cost and on top of that a smile whilst riding.

If it makes you feel better to think you're richer, nevermind the cost of purchase... another vehicle to tax, insure and maintain then OK :p

If you got rid of your car then it'd be a different matter!

Though I dont doubt the fuel cost per journey is less :)

I just taxed the bike 2 hrs ago online cost me £16 quid for the year :D v £220 for my BMW

It cost's £15 a month to Insure :p

The saving on wear and tear on my car tyres ect..at a cost of £120 for the fronts and £200 for the rears on the car is a win win.

factor in those and yeah I'm quids in never mind the fun of getting to work on the country lanes.:p

It cost so little to get to work I feel I'm working for me not wasting money to get to work.

The cost is throw away in all honesty. Its cheaper than the bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The car will be going, need to get it through MOT first. But need to get the thing started been 4months since it last ran, batteries on charge. But couldn't get it going on jump leads. I really hope it's not a pain, as it was working absolutely fine before that.

I hear that, I'm only on a moped but I save a fortune!

Also the ride to work is a bit more interesting and I always seem more awake when I get to work.

like the sound of this but know nothing about motorbikes - I have a 6 mile commute and wouldnt mind a change from the car - what licence do you need to ride this (told you I know nothing about bikes!)? Says on my old paper licence provisional Cat A upto 125cc that I passed in 1997 - do I need to take any tests or anything or pay any other monies other than buying the bike and paying tax/insurance and fuel?

To be fair, I'd have to be saving a considerabley large amount of money to ride a Van Van. :D:p
