I don't know what to do guys..

I want to go Nvidia, but to be honest, I feel it's a waste of money considering I've got a perfectly good 290x that's less than 5 months old.

In a perfect world, I'd grab a 980Ti or two, things have changed meaning that can no longer happen.

I'm the process of purchasing a 4k monitor, because I want one. I'm going to keep my 1080p one as a second. When I get things sorted I'll buy some proper cards for it. I'm not bothered about ultra settings at 4k, because I'm guessing even at medium it'll look better than 1080p. And I don't care because if needs be ill just use 1080p :)

Now that 290x prices are falling big time, shall I just get another and go crossfire? And will my 750w Antec PSU be okay, if everything is ran at stock? No overclocks at all. It'll all be watercooled.

I understand the crossfire problems etc etc. And that AMD are announcing cards tomorrow. I bought into the Graphics cards section at totally the wrong time, leaving me with a card that isn't worth much :(

Wait and see if there's a price war.

The PSU would be fine, so long as running stock. Maybe a slight OC too. You can manage the power draw with the slider in Afterburner.

edit: just noticed it's a lightning, the best OCing card on the market, you should really get something else if you don't want to OC. I'm looking at prices for used ones, £300 and up. You could sell and get the cheapest one you can find, leaving you with a chunk of change.

I want to overclock but with two cards on a 750w psu I thought it would be cutting it a bit fine. This card has 2x8pin + 6pin.. And can pull 450w on its own when ocing, according to MSI.

The last one on here sold for £250 ish? I don't trust the bay or anything like that.

IMO...the sensible thing to do is not blow any more money on 28nm graphic card in attempting to pair a 4K monitor. It'd more sensible to brave on on the existing monitor and card, and upgrade to 4K next year along with the true next gen graphic card on a new die shrink.
