I'm the best man......what do I need to do?

Right, one of my mates has recently got engaged and has asked me to be the best man at his wedding

I've got plenty of time to arrange the "Stag do" ec. but they are having their engagement party on Saturday. We are staying over in the hotel and have the place hired out.

However, Is the best man expected to do anything at the engagement party or what lol. I know i've got to make a speach at the wedding but not sure if there is any responsibility about Saturday. Or do I just turn up like the rest of the guests

AFAIK you dont have to do anything at the engagement party.
All you have to do its the stag do, a speech and keep and eye on the rings afaik.

lol, well dunno about strippers but as far as i'm aware there will be a high population of drunken single women all around our age

And we all staying over in the hotel too...........lol..........so sod the strippers

At the engagement party you are a guest and just have to have a good time and not get off with the bride to be!

Havent decided the best prank to play on the stag do though. The bride to be said I can't tie him to any trees etc. etc.

Sadly this is one tradition I couldent uphold at my sisters wedding (yea, best man at your own sisters wedding) and both bridesmaids were underage :eek:

Did try it on with a barmaid tho.

Apart from the speaches the usher gets more hassle, you can use them to help you and they are even more responsible for guests... you shuld get a present from the happy couple though.
