I'm thinking of having a crack at getting Alchemy Working on a Xonar

Just an idea. My main point of dis-satisfaction with my Xonar D2 has been DS3D-GX. When it works it's great but in a number of older games it doesn't. Also the 'set and forget' nature of Alchemy appeals to me.

I recall hearing that DanielK got Alchemy working on non-Creative soundcards begore they issued him with a cease and desist order.

I still have an XtremeMusic lying around and a spare PCI slot. The XtremeMusic didn't work with 4GB in Vista hence why I replaced it.

Was thinking of trying the following:
1. install XtremeMusic with no drivers (if the following doesn't work, I might try with drivers).
2. Install Alchemy.
3. Disable XtremeMusic in device manager.
4. See if Alchemy works with the Xonar and if it works better than DS3D-GX in games where I'm having problems).

Any thoughts?
