Long story short I've been using these senheiser PC 363D headphones for 3 years now and I recently came across these Siberia 840 headphones for free brand new.

I installed the software and set the headset up correctly but when I try to communicate whilst gaming such as Discord or in-game via CSGO I can't hear myself speak, I hate this so much.

How can these Steelseries headsets be for gaming if you can't even hear yourself speak? How do people use these. :(

363D will be better anyway than that cheap disguised tat.

But anyway, remove and reinstall the software and make sure you follow the instructions. Before this make sure you also remove the Sennheiser drivers, they could be causing a conflict.

Or just sell them a go back to the Senns.

The problem is I just opened the Steelseries headset and I wish I didn't. I don't think it has warranty so it will be impossible to sell now, wouldn't it?

@Samhfx I have the 840 you need to enable talkback. Or whatever its called think its livemix. Enable that in the options menu then turn up the volume of it
or its called chatmix.

It is there somewhere as I also thought I'd made the wrong choice but got it working and was happy again.

Just wish Oculus had it too

Talkback? I went to the sound icon on the taskbar and enabled it there but I couldn't stand the small delay on speaking then hearing my voice. I can't even talk properly with it, so strange and weird.
Is that the feature you mean? If so how can you like that.

Long story short I recently got the Steelseries SIberia 840 headset. Don't get me wrong the sound quality is amazing but when it comes to talking and communicating whether it's in-game or via Discord I cannot hear myself talk which is a very annoying problem for me, I cannot pronounce words properly without being able to hear myself.

I enabled the feature via the setting which allows you to hear yourself wheen you talk through your mic through the icon on my task bar. But the problem with using this is there is a slight delay from when I talk and when I hear it which is very annoying. The other problem is I use push to talk so this feature uses open mic which captures everything. So I can hear my keyboard for example when I'm typing.

The headset as a feature too which is Sidetone. When I use this it makes a static noise and it's just x10 worse because it uses the mic on thee headset rather than my desktop microphone.

What should I do?
