Hi all,

Im currently looking at upgrading my trusty old Athlon 64 3200 system running on an AGP Leadtek 6800gt to something a little more exciting.

Im looking to go the AM2 route and i will probably go for the 5000+ dual core? with regard to mobos when i got mine DFI were the kings now where have they gone? I just want a reliable little number that will not hinder the other components!

Also whats all this about DDR2 and why is it oh so cheap..... Anywho im sure i will go for 2gb of this? Whats compatable? Back in the day pc3200 worked in everything!

Graphics wise im no hardcore gamer but i do play now and again. My current 6800gt is starting to age so im looking for a nice little boost. The 7950gts cards look nice on this week only. Are they best bank for buck?

Here is a spec i looked at;

Is this all compatable and decent gear? Im a wee bit lost at the mo?

Will my Akasa Paxpower true 460 watt be up to the job?

Thanks for any suggestions/help.

I have a setup like that, it gets humped by a Core 2 Duo system I built for £200 less.

The below is better than the system i built which beat my setup. Its going to beat my setup and your proposed one by quite abit.

Yep your PSU should be fine :)

Note: If your looking for high overclocking then look at the Ballistix PC5300, it clocks above 1000MHz with ease.

I was just about to post but it seems Jaffa_Cake beat me with an almost identical specification so I'll do nothing more than say it looks good and allows a fair bit of potential for overclocking. :)
