iMac 27" High Pitch noise when speakers are idle

Currently own a 2011 iMac.. When the speakers are plugged in when idle there are various high pitched sounds when I fiddle with the audio cable e.g plugging in and out it usually stop's this for a few hours, also spinning the cable whilst inside the port can change the pitch of the noise etc and in some cases completely make it go away.`

I had this issue with my last PC it was a gaming rig, maybe this is just an issue of on board sound?

Just curious if anyone has this issue or has ever had this issue or know's why etc?

take it to apple its still under warranty

If they're the same speakers you previously used with your gaming rig and you had the same problem then, the problem is with your speakers.

Different speakers, Yeah I have Apple Care.. May do at some point!
