imac 27"

so im going to buy my first ever mac

don't know why but i have always wanted a macbook (think they are the best looking laptop out there) but after much thought i decided; i don't really need the mobility so have decided to get the 27" imac with 1tb fusion drive and 680mx ,3.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5,8gb of memory

now my question is :confused:

is now a good time to buy one? will there be a refresh any time soon?

It's not a great time to buy (Buyer's Guide), but only Apple know when it will be refreshed.

If you don't need it, then it might be best to hold off or buy a second hand one.

in a bit of a dilemma now :confused:

was going to get it from the wife for my birthday in august. If its just going to be a minor bump in spec like a haswell refresh then i am not too bothered .

It will be a spec bump nothing more I imagine. The new slim form factor will be in use for a few years yet.

right got mind and heart set on it and if i keep waiting for the next new thing ill be waiting forever lol just one more question,im going to get 8 gb and buy the rest myself to max it out as i have heard its cheaper can someone point point me in the right direction
