So once agin im having a problem with my wireless internet connection and the airport on my 08 iMac.

I have my linksys connection running as normal, and i know the Internet connection is fine as i do this from my iPad on the same wireless connection.

Now what has happened before i go so f'd off with iMac not connecting i just ran a cable to it.

Airport finds the wireless router ok, tho sometimes it doesn't, and now it giving me a warning that their is no Internet conection from it, when their clearly is.

Also when istat was showing the network stats, it had the Ext saying, " updating" beside it, can anyone help...im majorly hacked off with this!

Reinstalled OSX and it fails to detect it still....has the airport card gone?

This is starting to get want to just sell this thing, this has been an on off problem for absolutly no reason.

SO despite doing a clean instiall..having TIme machine not reinstall anything of any worth....i am now experiencing this problem again!

Sat down..machine was running...it just wont find the internet connection..it finds the linksys point ok..jsut not the internet going thru it.

So, any suggestion, as I and finding the whole thing unreliable when things DO go wrong, so will be seeling it off if this cant be sorted.

1. Can you connect directly to the Router. For Netgear its 192.168.0.1. I am not sure what it is for Linksys. If you can connect directly to the router then it would indicate that there is probably either a DNS (from my experiences) problem with you're machine, or there is a problem with the Linksys router connecting to the internet.
2. Is it possible that you can borrow a friends router/adsl modem. I would try that to see if it is the linksys before buying a new one.
3. I have had airport cards fail on me in the past. If you can determine that it is most definitely the airport card in your computer, then you will have to take it to an apple store.
