iMac and Macbook Pro

Hi,

I've had a Macbook Pro for just under a year now and do a fair bit of photography work on it using Adobe Lightroom to edit RAW files.

My parents have just gone and bought a 27"" iMac and it is absolutely fantastic, the screen is enormous.

In short, is there anyway I can make use of that screen to do my photography work? I'm assuming that Apple - being the annoying morons that they are - have disabled the ability to use the iMac as an external monitor. Is there any other solution to my problem? I basically would want to do the work (when at home that is) on my parent's iMac and then export everything to my MBP.

Basically I would love the ability to just transfer my Lightroom onto the iMac, work on the photos there and then transfer it back to my MBP retaining the workflow and everything else.

Cheers

The Imac can be used just as a monitor you just need the Mini DP cable. AFAIK the DP on the 27 is input/output while the 21.5 is output only

Thanks guys. Funnily enough I did try Google but didn't get the info I was looking for.

I'll grab one of those cables.

Cheers :)

No problem. Mini hijack - does anyone know for certain what GPUs can output to the iMac? From what I gather the 5850 can't, not yet anyway.
