Hiya, been asked from a guy at work who is getting a new iMac if or how he can stream music to another device, so that he can play what he has in itunes in another room. I am sure this is possible, but what would he need to be able to do this? This is not something that i have ever tried, but am sure that it can be done without too much hassle.

Could somone give me the low down on what he would need to be able to do this so i can pass it on, also if it needs to be setup any which way as i'm sure it would come my way ! :p

He can stream iTunes music to any stereo or device with stereo/optical inputs with an Airport Express.

He can share his music via iTunes with other computers running iTunes via the Share Library option.

Thanks Lord, you posted back the same time as i found Airport Express. Does this comunicate directly with the iMac?

it's a wireless base-station, so you setup a wifi network using it, or have it join your existing network.

Once you enable AirTunes in the configuration, the Airport express appears as an extra set of speakers within iTunes

This is pretty cool. I knew about them, but never really payed much attention to them if you know what i mean. This is really going to do what he needs, just wish that i had a need for one as it sounds cool !!!
