iMac Audio performance ?

So I have just upgraded the Audio chip in my PC to an XFi soundcard and it made me wonder how does the iMac audio compare?

I remember the sound quality on my iMac was very good, was one of the first things I noticed when I switched to PC. I then upgrade to a Xonar DX2 which is definitely a step up again from the iMac.
