iMac dark spots appearing on screen

Had my iMac for about a year and a half now, restarted it earlier and when it was loading I noticed in the top right of the screen it seems to have developed this strange looking patch of what looks like dirt on the screen. It makes it look slightly darker in the corner in odd spots / streaks.

Anyone ever had this before? I don't have Applecare and wondering if taking it to the Apple Store will be of any use for me.

It's kind of hard to photograph, took a quick photo on my iPad's crappy camera.

It looks like patches of dirt but the glass is perfectly clean.

It's kind of noticeable even when there is stuff going in the corner of the screen

To be honest I didn't really take much notice of it, I never really have much need to look in that corner of the screen but now I know it's there it's really bugging me and I can see it a lot more.

Yep, got this on my 27" imac too :(
It's in the top right corner?
I should have got it sorted but the nearest Apple centre is miles away and difficult to lug something that heavy round too!
It seems to be possibly heat related from other articles I have seen.

Yeap... It happened on mine too and I got the LCD panel replaced. The issue was very common at one point; when they first moved over to the aluminium casing, but now it seems to be a lot less common and it's caused by temperature.
