iMac iPad Apple TV combo?

I am guessing yes but does anyone know if it is possible to connect your ipad to an imac then airplay to a big screen? Has anyone done this?

If you have one of the latest iMacs you probably could Airplay the display to an ATV and then use either something like AirMouse to control it or get something like iTeleport to have a full VNC solution (so your desktop is visible on both the TV and iPad).

However, it's probably going to be quite slow.

You might be better off getting a mini display port (or thunderbolt) to HDMI cable to connect your iMac to the TV and then use the bluetooth keyboard and mouse/trackpad to control everything.

You can airplay your iMac to an apple tv using mountain lion. I do it with my air.

You can then control it with the iPad using VNC or the like as above.

There will be lag with airplay, wires will be much better.

Another option would be to use the app Splashtop. I guess that in order to control the desktop via the ipad you would do the following:

-Use Splashtop iPad app to connect to Splashtop streamer on Mac
-Set Airplay Mirroring on with iPad
