iMac Pro not booting

Set up a new iMac Pro last week, working fine until this morning it won’t boot.

Fan spins, external drive powers up but nothing on the display.

Tried a wired keyboard to see if I can do the usual PRAM etc but nothing, caps lock light doesn’t even come on.

Before I trigger warranty, is there anything else I can try?

Just to confirm, you've done a SMC reset? If not, then do that as the SMC is hardware related - https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/reset-macs-smc-pram/

But with it being weeks old and within warranty, i'd be getting Apple to look at it.

Edit - Out of curiosity, does the start-up sound play?

Yes, tried SMC a few times and with the Apple guy on chat right now. Sorting out warranty now.

Nope, no sound, display doesn't even power on, no keyboard lights. Like it's not making it through POST.

Anybody here have an iMac Pro? If so, can you tell me at what temperature the CPU get to before the fans spin up.

TIA

I don't think they ever have? I'm only using Creative Suite though so probably not exactly taxing it.

Mine's been a bit flaky cold booting since I've had it, I just never shut it down anymore. It's a work machine so CBA to get it sorted as I have to go through layers of IT.

Mine is rock solid around the 1100RPM until the temps hit 93deg +, and it takes quite a bit to do that. See here.

Cheers, that’s what I’m finding too. Though on the 14-core, rendering it quickly sits around 90c with spikes to 100c when job completes.

Everything I know and all my experience tells me this is poor design. The fans can spin up and It’s incredible that they don’t trigger around 85c at least.

I think i might just set fan profiles on them all to do just that.
