Question, if I buy an iMac now and select just a standard HDD in it, does it still have the empty slot for an SSD?

I've got an SSD to go in it, I'm pretty sure it will but if anyone can confirm...

Thanks :)

Just to clarify anyway, in case anybody comes across this thread.

You don't get the SSD bracket if you don't order an SSD. This means that a "proper" installation can only have a single drive. However, nothing says that you cannot use adhesive with velcro (make sure you can find stuff that can take the heat) and fit the drive using that.

I'm not aware of the bracket being available alone.

As someone with a late 2010 iMac, is it possible to have an SSD fitted? Do Apple do that, and what's the charge if they do?

Mental money, hence why I'm fitting my own.

Yeah you can buy the SSD Pressure plate (is the official name) but I'll just use heat resistant sticky pads to fix it in place :)
