Is it easy to change the RAM in my new iMac when I get it to 4GB and if so what sort of RAM does it take e.g laptop/desktop ram and how many slots does it have etc.

Very easy to change, little plate at the bottom of the machine. Takes SO-DIMM laptop size memory and has 2 slots. A well known memory manufacturer has an option of their website so you can match your computer to the type of RAM it takes. Or just take a look here on OCUK.

Overclockers sell iMac ram, here is the 4GB set.

It's very easy to install extra ram into the iMac, plenty of videos on youtube too. You get two slots in the iMac, the current hardware for the iMac allows a maximum of 4GB to be seen by the motherboard from what I've read.

Just a point that if you have purchased the latest version of the iMac then the memory speed is DDR2 800/6400 as standard.

OcUK's mac memory is the slower DDR2 667/5300 memory.

You'd want to take advantage of the speed bump if you can.

The last two iterations of the iMac have supported 800MHz RAM, it just wasn't available until lately
