I've got a iMac which is about 1-2 month old, it has 2Gb of ram i'm thinking of upgrading to 4Gb. 2 questions really........
1) Would Kingston brand ram be ok?
2) Would this invalidate my Applecare warranty?
Not 100% sure if that memory is ok, but think so. To know for sure and in fact to find something cheaper check the Crucial website and use their wizard which can actually scan your iMac to tell you exactly which memory you need.
Also not sure if you should really link to that site as I guess it would be a competitititor!
As for the warrant it simply says in the iMac manual that care should be taken when installing memory and if you damage the equipment, that damage will not be covered by the limited warranty.
Well i'm not sure about the compatibility issue tbh but I am told that crucial memory is the memory that doesn't void the warranty. Also its cheaper than kingston!
