Hi.

Well, I will buy my new computer on Monday.

I have two choices :

-iMac i5 3,60 Ghz with 4 GB DDR3, 1 TB HD and 5670 512 MB.

-PC with Phenom X6 2,8 Ghz with 4 GB DDR3, 2 TB HD and 5850 1 GB.

iMac runs Mac OS X, and PC runs Windows 7.

Which one should be my choice if I'm looking for future proof? I play games, edit photos...

future proof, PC hands down, you can only upgrade the ram and HD on the iMac and everything on the PC, plus PC cheaper, so more to spend on other things ;)

if you are gaming, the pc is definitely the better choice.

How much would you be spending on the pc? because I would have thought the mac choice would be more expensive anyway.

however unless you are able to fix all the issues yourself, the PC will after a year run like a dog, and probably be killed by virus' and probably at least once manager to get corrupt and require installing..

a mac will probably in 5 years (assuming no hardware failure) be running the same as the day you brought it...

I support loads of home users, a number now have mac's they never call me with mac problems... jsut virus and crashes and go slows on their Pc's...

Me, I hate macs they are total rubbish.... they jsut work which is bad as I dont get paid to fix them...

Only if you're a n00b and don't know how to use a computer properly. Win7 is very stable these days.
